Starting in the rolling hills of the Palatinate, we crossed the Saarland before entering Luxembourg, where hills, valleys, forests and rivers had a say in where the roads were allowed to go. From there, the terrain kept rolling into the Ardennes and eventually the Herve Plateau, giving us plenty more ups, downs and excuses to lean until we reached the Netherlands, where things calmed down considerably.
