There, the road suddenly had plenty of hills and corners and way more beauty than we had originally planned for, including the preposterously high bridge over the Moselle. The Moseltalbrücke carries the A61 on its shoulders above the Moselle valley, and its highest pier reaches 123 metres. Quite a lucky encounter with that tall lady on a journey that was originally about not running dry in the middle of the road.
